Honor Flight is one way of honoring our veterans. Honor Flight is a nationwide organization that presents Veterans of the Armed Forces the opportunity to fly to Washington, D.C. and visit special landmarks and memorials that are near and dear to them. The Phoenix chapter sends 350 veterans on this trip each year. As you know it is hard to find a community more caring and generous than quilters. We are looking for your assistance to have our contribution/donation one of many lap-sized quilts for this organization to present to their Honor Flight participants. You can make a red, white and blue quilt, any pattern, 40"x45" for wheelchair use or up to lap size, at home and bring your donation in on this day, or reserve a spot in class to work on one. We have set aside this day, just before Memorial Day, to remember all the sacrifices our veterans have given. You may also donate financially by contacting www.honorflightaz.org.
