Honor Flight is one way of honoring our veterans. Honor Flight is a nationwide organization that presents Veterans of the Armed Forces the opportunity to fly to Washington, D.C. and visit special landmarks and memorials that are near and dear to them. The Phoenix chapter sends 350 veterans on this trip each year. We are looking for your assistance to have our contribution/donation be one of many lap-sized quilts for this organization to present to their Honor Flight participants. As you know it is hard to find a community more caring and generous than quilters! You can make a red, white and blue quilt, any pattern, 40"x45" for wheelchair use, or up to lap size, at home and bring your donation in on this day or reserve a spot in class to work on one. We have set aside Friday, November 4, to remember all the sacrifices our veterans have given. We will celebrate that day and also look at the wonderful, donated quilts.
