WEEKEND Beginning Quilting Course

This is a three-Sunday, quick, intensive 5 hour workshop on all the basics of quilting. You should have done previous sewing and be familiar with your sewing machine to get the most from this fast paced class. You will learn how to read a pattern, cutting skills, sewing, squaring up, walking foot quilting and finishing. This class will set you out on your own quilting adventure, and have you creating masterpieces in no time at all. Your class manual is included in the fee for the class. This will be one of your first quilts and provides learning half-square triangles, rail strips and nine-patch throughout the quilt. The Supply List for the Weekend Beginning Class is at Modern Quilting. All class supplies are 20% off so be sure to tell us at checkout. This will be the beginning of many creative projects for you and your family. SPECIAL NOTE: IF you have little or no knowledge of your machine, it is advisable that you FIRST COMPLETE the "Get Acquainted with Your Machine" Class and then get some practice in. This is a one-on-one appointment prior to class where you will learn basic machine sewing, and sign-up is available in the shop or you may call. The you will be ready for class! Monday Open Sew

Every Monday, you can bring your supplies and your project and take advantage of our comfortable classroom to work on a project of your choice! Carve out some time in your week to be creative, and hang out and socialize with other quilters. The cost is just $10 for the day, and this fee gives you access to an ironing station, cutting tools and light refreshments.?

Basic Beginning Quilting with Susan

Do you want to learn how to make a quilt, but don't know where to start? This may be the class for you! This is a slower-paced, step by step series of 6 Friday classes. It is suitable for those who need a little extra time to absorb the information taught. Topics covered will include rotary cutting, block construction, quilt top assembly and squaring up, creating the quilt sandwich and finally, quilting with a walking foot and binding. Be sure to get the supply list well ahead of time so you can gather all your tools and fabrics. DON'T FORGET! We give a 20% discount on all supplies purchased for class if you buy them in the shop!!
